Little update

1) For the Webcam, in jaunty, you need to do that (7 commands):

sudo apt-get install libglib2.0-dev libusb-dev build-essential gcc automake fakeroot mercurial
hg clone http://bitbucket.org/ahixon/r5u87x/
cd r5u87x
make
make rules
sudo make install
sudo r5u87x-loader --reload

2) the memory stick seems to work according to the posts of pulpo88, but I don't understand what is exactly the procedure to follow

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=797031&page=2
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/ source/linux-ubuntu-modules-2.6.22/ bug/159951
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/ source/linux/ bug/222557

Maybe U can help.

Great page

Thank you so very much for this contribution, do you know if there have been any strides in attaching the xbacklight to the HAL functions. I know for fact that Ubuntu 8.04 detects FN keys, and also that the music controls work out of the box. I'd just like to be able to use the FN keys to actually control the brightness instead of running a script.

Email me, please and thank you!

Your blog is going in my favorites.
